Celebrating Agriculture since 2001.

About Us.

The concept of Celebrating Agriculture started in 2001 as part of an effort to promote community education and participation in agriculture, as well as to support consumer purchasing of local farm products.

We also invite growers and producers to sell their products and demonstrate processes, as well as local organizations.

We hope that community members will learn more about forestry, farming, recreational agriculture, and all the other important faces of agriculture, and enjoy a nice day of good food and fun for all ages. We also encourage educators to invite their students so they can learn more about this essential part of our lives.

Celebrating Agriculture logo T-shirts will be on sale at the event.

Our History.

Each year, our goal is to welcome more people to learn who our farm neighbors are, and how to support local agriculture to enrich and maintain the open space -- the working landscape -- of our area.

The Quinebaug-Shetucket Heritage Corridor, which extends from Northeastern Connecticut into South Central Massachusetts, is considered The Last Green Valley between Washington D.C. and Boston, because of the significant amount of open space in the region, much of which is agricultural land. This farmland provides the area with a sustainable food supply and products necessary for basic, everyday needs. Farms contribute to open space, wildlife, and the economic viability of the region.

Starting in 2023, the event is held at The Brooklyn Fairgrounds.
